Employment Tribunals

Posted on May 29, 2013

The HM Courts and Tribunals Service has announced the date for the implementation of fees into the Employment Tribunals (ET) and Employment Appeals Tribunal (EAT). In a letter issued to stakeholders this morning, Monday 29th July 2013 has been published as the ‘go live’ date.

Subject to the necessary Parliamentary approvals, all ET claims and EAT appeals from the employment tribunals to HM Courts and Tribunals Service will be liable under the Fees Order and supporting rules to pay a fee.
This is a key development and one where parties may now feel even more compelled to consider mediation as an alternative to going to an ET in the future.
